Fluorocarbon tippet

Just buy a spool of seaguar fluoro. I’ve happily used 6lb to 10lb of different types of that brand and have caught plenty of fish and have gone through multiple spools for a small fraction of the cost of fly fishing specific tippet spools. I just hang them alongside my nylon tippet spools on my sling. If you are patient enough you will find the type show up on eBay at a pretty good discount or come cheap via auction. I use my tippet savings to over pay for designer nippers.

I have been using Maxcatch for a couple seasons. The listed break strength is a little lower than say Rio but it has worked fine for me. No issues with knots or break off and I use it for pan fish regularly. That said, it has handled some pretty hefty bass up to about 4lbs on 4x. Pretty sure it is $9.99 for a spool but you get 55 yards.

Berkley Vanish fluoro in 4# for almost all of my tightline nymphing. A 200+ yard spool will last me several years.
