So I almost hate to make a post like this, but I have a good reason. I'm looking for some basic info on Fishing Creek near Bloomsburg. Not your honey hole, but just any hints or tips on access spots and safe wading flows.

I have been trying to help a friend who has been down on his luck get into fly fishing. He now has all of the gear and a set of basic flies. He has been practicing his knots and casting.

Fishing Creek is his closest water, and living 2hrs away, I have only basic knowledge of this water at this time. I was hoping to take him on his first outing in the next few weeks, so any help (by PM if you like) is greatly appreciated.

Thanks PAFF!

It's been many years since I've fished FC. I know there has been alot posting since I've been there last.

There are 2 great ways to find access points to streams you want to fish the first time.
1, is to assist in stocking. There most likely is a stocking scheduled in the next week or so. Check PAFBC HOME PAGE. Meet up with the truck and note the stocking points. Follow it and help dump fish in. Also a PAFBC officer will be present. You can pick his brain for other info.

Also 487 parallels the stream the majority of it's length. You can drive along looking for the approved trout water postings. Usually in areas with decent parking or near the bridges.

Wish I could offer more but my info would be greatly dated.

Good Luck

I've driven along Rt. 487 many times to get into the SGL, I'd say this is very good advice for finding fishable water on Fishing Creek.
