First White Bass!

The white bass run started on a local river so I decided to bring the fly rod with and got my first fly caught white bass! Also caught a couple others on white zonkers. Planning on fishing it again tomorrow.

Thanks, they are very underrated fish, especially on the fly. Usually I have the whole place to myself in the summer when fishing for gills and carp, but when the white bass and hybrids are in it can get pretty busy. I was actually surprised to see 2 other guys fly fishing there yesterday.

I want head back out there today before the rains come. Might try to put a video together too if they're hitting good.

they are great fun on the fly! they hit like a truck. the other day i was fishing for SM with a popper on the Allegheny about 4 miles up from the burgh and i caught a couple close to the 2 lb mark which is pretty good size for that species.
