Cool article, I remember my first fish. I was about 5 or six and was visiting my aunt and uncle who lived along a moderate sized stream. I had found where someone lost a line and hook as it was wrapped around some brush. After detangling it I brought it to my uncle who tied it on a stick for me. I pulled a stick caddis out of its case and put it on the hook. I caught a 6 inch chub with that rig. Over the weekend I had caught a few more chubs, a small catfish, and I think a small trout with same outfit using grasshoppers, crickets, worms, bread, and anything else I could put on the hook. A fisherman was born.
