This rod was one of Fenwick’s more popular fiberglass fly rods during the period when it was produced, 1972-1988. With one exception (see details which follow) this rod is in very good, clean, used condition, and is a 7 1/2’ long, 6wt rod (some also like to use a 7wt line on it).
One part of this rod has some damage, which is that bottom of the reel seat that holds the fly reel is bent, as shown in the attached pictures. It holds a fly reel firmly and securely, however, the same as if it were not damaged.
The rod has been used but the cork handle is clean and there are only the smallest of marks on the blank. The rod tube is in very good, clean condition, but the end caps do show some minor wear signs. The cloth bag is not original to the rod but it is also in very good, clean condition.
I’d like $60.00 for the rod, picked up in the Lancaster area, or I will ship it for the actual shipping cost, paid by PayPal.
Send me a private message here to arrange the purchase or with any questions you might have. Thanks, John
P.S. If you’d like to make this a complete outfit, ready to fish, I have 2 reels that match this rod that I’d sell for $30.00 apiece, with the rod - your choice. One is a Heddon, Japanese made Hardy Lightweight knock off, with an as-new Cortland peach 444 wf6f line and attached tapered leader, and the other is a Cortland Crown II reel with an as-new Scientific Angler Mastery wf7f line and attached tapered leader. I can supply pictures and more detailed descriptions on these reels if you are interested. (The reels show signs of use, but are in fine mechanical condition otherwise. The lines alone are probably worth $30.00.)
