Erie Tribs Steelhead Trip Help

Has anyone been up at Elk since the storm came through? I’d like to get on the water for my last day here tomorrow, but would prefer not to get stuck. I do have awd.

Poor Richard’s FB page indicated Walnut access area has been plowed, but also notes that stream ice and slush are on the water with very deep snow everywhere. They add to use extreme caution.
No info regarding Elk Creek, you may want to call a local shop for more info.

That will all be a nice charge of water into the ground when the snow melts.

If you have been up here all week you know how tolerant the plow drivers are. AWD is not going to get you out of any unplowed area around here.

Lake effect storm warning still up 6"-8" more snow tonight.

Just to close the loop on this - I fished elk today. No problem getting in or out. No crowds and happy but cold fish. Could definitely tell things were melting off toward the end of the day and the water was coming up/getting dirtier.

I also fished Saturday on Elk. I'll echo @gunpowderglass comments on the state of Elk Creek. I will add that while following other's trails through the snow was not too bad, breaking a fresh trail for oneself was hard work in 2.5 to 3 feet of snow. Fishing was good, catching not so much...
