It presents the royal Humpy very well. If it didnt do that then I wouldnt use it. Not being able to throw that fly would be like not being able to use my right arm. thats half of my fly fishing arsenal.
Yeah I remember that day. The humpy is deceptive in its trout catching abilities. Its like a portly little ninja dancing along the riffles waiting for unsuspecting trout to fall into its trap!
It just goes to show you that there is no substitute for confidence in a fly. You could match a hatch but if you dont have confidence in your fly or your fishing then you will catch less fish. People underestimate the mental side of fly fishing.
