The stripers are finally beginning to move into the shallows with mostly large females there now. Stripers are sparsely distributed in the shallows, but that could greatly improve by the weekend if the warmer weather continues. Expect the shallow water fishing to be good through Memorial Day once it gets started. NJ side is generally better .

Today more stripers appeared in the shallows and shoreline fishing is entering the 10-14 best days of the year. One spawning group was captured and, in addition, a couple of spent females were captured among the individual stripers that were collected, measured, tagged, and released following the removal of a scale sample. Of five 1000 yd shoreline sites sampled, one in NJ and four in Pa, stripers were seen or captured along each, which was very encouraging from a fishing standpoint and a sampling standpoint. The largest was 40 inches and captured in about four-five ft of water. I can't emphasize enough that if you desire to fish for stripers cruising close to shore, now is the time!

Nice. Thanks for the update.
