Shallows in areas that I have mentioned before are now the temporary homes of the spawning and pre-spawning stripers. Shore angling spots have very few anglers and I have not seen anyone on shore using anything but bait. NJ side was pretty calm today with the wind out of the east. Pa was a bit rough at times. Water temp was 63 F. Under the present water temp conditions and spawning conditions the fish should be vulnerable to fly anglers for 2-3 weeks. A trend of falling water temps will chase them back off shore until the trend reverses. See the USGS gauge data for Phila's Ben Franklin Bridge or Chester, Pa.
