What all colors of wire do you use for Copper John Nymphs? So far I tied Copper, Black, Green and Olive. Wondering what others colors to try.

I have had some good luck with a two tone Copper John. My best color combination is black and yellow.

I've used red on the smaller ones, nothing earth shattering but it takes fish.

if you have these guys around black and yellow is hard to beat:

I thought of tying some red ones. I like the black and yellow idea. I will have to look for some yellow wire. I did not see any yellow or brown while there yesterday. I really like the rib effect 2 colors give. I already tied up a bunch of hot wire princes in the two color scheme.

any single color or multi colors you want

I had good luck with red and green.

Aha the old Christmas Nymph, for us Jewish guys blue and silver

Copper-Brown Ultra wire is a good color. I also like wine.

I deviate from the original recipe though. I use pheasant for the tail and carry that forward and use the butts for the legs. I also opt for dubbing over peacock for the thorax and use ccg instead of epoxy.

Probably one of the best alternate copper john colors IMO. Also try chartreuse wire with black tails, legs, and wing case.
