Seen the boats stacking up near the mouth to get after the fish in pre spawn position. The Connie is fairly low and clean for this time of year. It's probably one of the better places to get an "oops, got a musky" hookups.
I caught a few fish on the spinning rod yesterday on the connie. Couldn't catch anything on the slumpbuster so I had to put the fly rod away and bring the spin rod out. Are you using an all grey slumpbuster? Where can I buy it from? Besides having issues casting far, I think it might just be the way I am stripping the line back. I used a 5WT from Hobbs creek and as for the slumpbuster, its just from a pack on amazon. And 2 more from today. At least my wife will know where to find me in the evenings now that they are starting to bite

Sounds about right. I was just over there the other day. Looked very cleanSeen the boats stacking up near the mouth to get after the fish in pre spawn position. The Connie is fairly low and clean for this time of year. It's probably one of the better places to get an "oops, got a musky" hookups.
A little over a week ago I was fishing just below the mouth of the Letort looking for trout and I ran into two kids who were fishing for bass. They showed me a pic of a musky they had caught earlier, looked around 30 inches or so.Seen the boats stacking up near the mouth to get after the fish in pre spawn position. Ah gotcha, thanks for the info. I will try to find some similar to that then. Pictures would be appreciated!Nice fish!
Mine are grey/brown. I can post a picture of them when I get home tonight. I make my own, though I'm sure Precision and/or TCO has them.

They can be purchased at The Fly Stop (Google). They have the slumpbuster in numerous different colors/sizes, including grey. Pretty good quality, very reasonable prices, and they have FAST delivery. I've gotten my flies from them for quite some time and I've never been disappointed. Hope this helps.I caught a few fish on the spinning rod yesterday on the connie. Hey there Steve. Its been a while! I was out on the connie today with the #6 mouse gray slumpbusters and didnt get a bite. My current setup is a 5WT with 1X tapered leader. Maybe I am not casting far enough (I am still new and my casting is not the best) or my retrieve may be incorrect but I havent been getting any action on the fly. I switched to my spinning gear with the Ned bug and instantly got smallies every cast. Are there certain times when this fly produces in the connie? Are there any other fly recommendations you have?Caught this on a slumpbuster this evening on the Conodoguinet

My favorites are the slump buster, Kreelex minnow, or a black wooly bugger. I fished the slump buster on saturday and caught 4 fall fish and one rainbow, sunday was 3 fall fish and 1 smb. We fished below the water plant in Carlisle on Friday and I couldn't find a fish that liked anything I had.Hey there Steve. Its been a while!
