Went for Carp with my fly rod and caught a monster. Measured 31 inches and weighed 16 pounds. Note the bend it the hook near the eye, it wasn't there before i caught this pig. :-o

This was my first time targeting Carp and i had a blast. I am definitely hooked!

They are like hooking a tractor-trailer. Great fun that can substitute for a slow day on a trout stream.

Where does a carp go after hooking him on a fly rod? Anywhere he wants to.

Congrats, Opie. That is a real nice carp. Hook durability is important on landing heavy carp. If that hook would have bent at the other end (bend of the hook) you would just have the bent hook and no photo of the fish. Keep up the good work and have fun with it.

Congrats!

That bend you got there is why I target carp with large strong hooks.
Certainly is fun!
