Fished Hopewell lake this morning for bluegill and noticed many weeds and snails floating on the surface near the dam. I know for sure that there are carp, (and saw one surface), in there toward the deepest part of the dam. Are those worth casting to if I can't see them or should I cast where they last surfaced?

As may be evident by the lack of responses, I think sporatically surfacing carp in a deep water area like this in front of a dam would be extremely hard to target. I probably wouldn't even waste the time casting to these fish. Your time would be better spent trying to locate some carp in some of the shallower areas of the lake (if possible) where you can take a shot at a carp that you have a visual on or can at least see an active cloud of silt or bubbles from an actively feeding fish.

Old thread but just saw it. The front half of the lake is very shallow. In the evening before dark you will find them feeding where you can sight fish them.
