Hey all,

I fly fish and gear fish but my passion is on the fly. My favorite method is sight fishing for bass on dry flies but I also do a lot of streamer fishing. For trout I do alot of Euro and streamer. I do a lot of musky on the fly fishing too.

Looking to find people to night fish for larger trout and musky with experience.

Welcome to PAFF! I think you will like it here, so many resources at your disposal here.

The fishing group I am part of, the Dauphin County League of Chubsmen, in the Hershey area, just met up last night for our annual year-end reason to meet for drinks and recapping the year.

We have a couple guys in our group that are avid night fishermen.

One of them used to frequent PAFF and offer to take people out and guide/teach night fishing in SC PA.

I am more of a warm weather fisherman myself but more power to those looking to get the fish in the cold!

The League of Chubsmen is an unmatched avengers sequel

Hahaha

This might help, I found it digging through old threads.

Cheers!

I mostly fish at night because it’s better for my family to not leave the house until after the kids are asleep. I live in Hershey but usually drive down to the Cumberland county side for this. I manage to catch trout, but they’re generally normal size like this one; I’d like to learn how to hone in on the big ones.

The way to hone in on the big ones is to devote more time to spotting with a flash light at night when done fishing and once you mark an individual return on another night hunt him or her in a smaller beat rather than working large swaths of mystery water for the little guys. Also the approaches talked about in Jim Bashlines book, trout bitten and trout tactics are great but their developed for big limestoners or freestoners like the Little J, Penns, Spring, upper Allegheny ect. You will find tight lime stoners in the CV exception being yellow breeches often require a different approach than the classical set ups/techniques. But they often work well on tiny spring creeks too it just depends.

Sounds like I need to get a more powerful flashlight than just my head lamp

Ohhh yess absolutely, head lamp is basically just for landing big fish and retying on red setting facing the bank. You need a REALLY high powered light to seen optimally when spotting at night.
