So I was thinking..... Every major fly fishing sector seems to have its version of the grand slam. Flat's fishing in Florida has it's bonefish, tapron and permit. The everglades has it's redfish, snook, and tarpon. I think it is about time we got a brownliner slam!

Carp, Catfish, and Drum in a day... Any thoughts?

Or a Carp catfish or a sucker ?

Carp, Cat, Bass

Mute, that is probably a good idea as those are available in most if not all rivers in the region.

I think you need four for a slam in anything...add sucker and I think you got it. Bass are actually game fish. Not eligible. Maybe a white bass in the Ohio near the old prison. Regardless, sounds like a fun day.

Tom,

That is why I was thinking Drum (Sheepshead)! Totally not a game fish in most people's book.

"Carp, Catfish, and Drum in a day... " right ..that's three..you needed a fourth...?

An Allegheny whitefish should complete the slam

carp, catfish, sucker and fallfish...

Sniper... what is a fallfish?

A big minnow. Similar to a chub. Similar enough that I call them all "chubs".

I believe for a slam you have to have one species that may be pretty difficult... maybe a gar or a bowfin as the fourth?

I always thought "grand slam" was a weird choice of terms. It's much more like hitting for the cycle.
