Sooo Id hate to be that guy to ask but opening day weekend my brother is coming in after being out of the country for almost a year and wanted to get together to reunite some time on the water together. I decided to get an airbnb right on the water on boiling springs area for a few days after opening day weekend. While North and NorthEast in Schuylkill, Lehigh, Northampton counties are more of my forte, 2 hours direct West is not. Ive fished the breeches twice in my life. Back when the run was known as a stocked fish aquarium as well as a section or two upstream where ive caught some wild brownies. That's the gist of my remembrance and specifics of anything.
For one of the days we will obviously be hitting up alot of the breeches stocked sections, but for another id like to try something a but more secluded, stocked or otherwise. Willing to drive around and hour or so in any direction. Getting to the point, while i'm still going to be putting in some hard time to manually research much of the area myself, including natural repro\class A access points from state maps and resources, OnX maps, Trout Routes, etc. I'm just looking for maybe any little hints or advice or anything anyone's willing to share to help me our on my limited time i have. Can be a direct stream name, a sgl number, a town name, anything. If youre familiar with the surrounding area and prefer a conversation i also can just bounce a few streams off you and you could let me know if you think its worth a day spent there. We will be staying in the area April 6-8th.
To be honest I really dont care if its just a small stream with an abundance of wild browns in a beautiful scenic mountain stream or just an over abundance of stockies in a surreal forest environment. Just to get some variance and perceived solitude would be nice, with a hunt of a fish or two. I also believe theres a breeches club in boiling springs that may do extra stockings in areas of the breeches? Dont know much about that though but also heard they lost alot of fish from some flood in 2024? So that doesnt sound ideal. Ive already carved out time this weekend to do some dedicated reconnaissance around more familiarity with the breeches itsself and different access and sections in order to get my brother some success. Feel free to PM me if you have any helpful info I could benefit from if its not wanted to be publicly posted.
