Can anyone help me out with what hatches are happening now on fishing creek? I am frustrated to say the least but the fish keep surfacing and I tried everything. They are splashing. Thanks in advance.

Translation: If the rises were splashy, the trout were likely taking egg-laying or emerging caddis.
If you consider energy balance, fish won't expend more energy eating a thing than they get for eating it. That would starve them. So, the behavior of the prey insect determines the type of rise. For example, trout will barely break the surface to eat a spent spinner because the spinner is dead or dying..
Caveat: Recently stocked trout are stupid.
