Ok here's a new one. Fishing the Broadhead this morning and not really doing much with nymph and not much surface activity though a few lingering BWO, micro Caddis, and another smallish mayfly (grey fox perhaps) flitting about.
In such conditions I like to use an attractor dry to see if I could move fish. Tied on a royal wulff and just start working the water. I would get one or two refusals, tie on a BWO and hook up immediately. Blind fish with the RW get a refusal switch to BWO and hook up.
Blind fishing with the BWO did not move a fish.
This technique worked for 6 of 7 fish located. All rainbows in the 12 to 14 inch class.
Not a bad morning - learned a new trick.
