Anybody ever use black glo bugs for steelhead? I got 2 bags at as close out sale (for 50 cents a bag). 1 was chartruese and the other was black. I know the chart. is a winner, but I never heard anyone using black ones.

This should help...

Paco,

You could try using a q-tip and dab some bleach on one side of the black. It may pale or color the black to a yellowish color one one side to mimic the steeler egg.

try using the black as a blood dot. blue and black and red and black are both combinations that can work.

if all else fails, throw it in a blend and get yourself some black dubbing :)

I think the contrast fo any other color and black will work.

Also, black during muddy conditions will stand out better to the fish than all other colors.

Had a fish on the black in blue colored Scrambled eggs a couple of weeks ago. It was tyed on a size 16 to small for steel especially for the fresh ones...
