So...I think I figured out how this website works. Give my post a shot.

Over the past few weeks, I've been fishing the Stroudsburg area. Having read cover to cover (multiple times) the Keystone Fly Fishing book which we all dutifully have as upright, ethical, and high-minded fly fishermen (no women..) I unbegrudgingly drove 2hrs. while listen to the Phil Dragish version of the Lotr audiobook and found myself on the Brodhead as it's been called the crown jewel of the Poconos. Someones gonna get that Lotr reference, I just know it.

Anyways. Knowing that the middle and upper stretches are controlled (justifiably as I fully appreciate private property rights) by private fishing clubs, I wasn't expecting a ton of wild browns, but I expected a few, especially in the upper stretches of public water. Unfortunately, I only caught stocked bows, browns, and even a big brookie surprisingly. I've heard the stories of big wild browns in the Brodhead. Its proximity to the Delaware and wayward/migratory large wild browns from the upper Delaware, I know they are there and just too smart for my dumbass. That said, does anyone catch small-ish wild browns on the lower Brodhead?

With all of this said, I hit a few Class A Tribs. just outside of Stoudsburg and caught quite a few nice wild browns, but was hoping for better from the Brodhead. Lastly, to put this post into perspective, I'd rather catch an 7in. native brookie or 9in. wild brown than any stocker any day. Cheers guys.

I can confirm that the lower creek is a low density, larger wild trout fishery before it becomes a home to smallmouth and fallfish. There are wild fish throughout in varying densities based on habitat, even right through town.

I can't help with Brodhead, but I am a big LOTR fan. How was the audiobook? Anyway sounds like overall you had a good trip.
