So, I finally broke my cherry on Wednesday afternoon and after about a year of flyfishing I caught my first native brookie!! (Sorry no pictures I wanted to get the little guy back in the water ASAP). Now, I admit, I havent really chased them either, really only fishing one stream that might have had them over my first year. Which made this one that much more exciting as I really wasnt in a place that I would have expected to hold brookies - a VERY little stream in Chester County that I knew to hold some wild browns. Anyway, the fish had amazing coloration, was about 6" and hit a #8 white cone head bugger that would have been a big meal for this guy. Now I think I am addicted and cant wait to get out and explore some areas that are better known for these fish.

Congrats! Im newly hooked as well. I think the numbers of fly fisherman are growing. Great job!

Nice work.

wait til you tie on a massive dry fly and have a tiny brookie come up and smoke it, nothing else like it.
