A Few Midges

So after the discussion of my summer slump, I got some advice to fish midges. And since I have had some time to tie again, I tied up a few. The concurrent discussion about hot spots inspired me to be a little creative. I guess these will fish.

The first one I call the Oriole midge - black zebra midge with an orange hot spot. The second one shows a glass bead with chartreuse hot spot. The middle one is a black glass bead with peacock herl.

Felt good to tie again - now if I could just get a trout in my hand, thing will be right with the world again!

Steve,
Very nice keep at it the midges are very very well tied!

Very nice! I like the hot spot. :)
Let me know how the Oriole midge does.

Very nicely done. Your peacock herl version of the zebra midge I would definitely consider one of my "go to" midge patterns as it has been a very consistent producer over the past few seasons for me. Good luck with your new creations!

It has an over .500 success rate until after the All Star break! :-D

In all seriousness, midge patterns can be very effective and catch the eye of large fish.
