Yeah, I agree. I have not casted the rod yet as I am awaiting its other half (reel), but just from the look of the butt and saddle, I am definitely a little disappointed. It is still a 100$ rod, and Im sure I could have found a used one of a bit better quality for that same price on some forums. I will rig it up, and cast it and hopefully what it lacks in aesthetics, it will make up for in durability and casting prowess. I am a bit worried though.
