I had an opportunity to use a friend's Orvis 8'6' TL 4 weight and I was able to cast, and especially mend, so much better than my Sage 8'6" 5 wt. The Sage is an unmarked blank, built from a second in 1982. I'm guessing that the slower, lighter blank helped me.
I'm looking for suggestions for a rod, with similar action to the Orvis, but more affordable. I know it wouldn't be the same, but closer is better.
This goes more toward a repeated arm problem, rather than just for convenience or " want".
Any ideas?

Check out a LSI from Cabelas. They are on sale for around $130

Thanks, kray. The LSi seems to flex more towards the tip in Cabela's video. The Orvis was a mid flex. I'll have to look at them in person, just looking for ideas.

redington voyant and redington pursuit. the voyant is slightly faster than then pursuit.

The prusuit is probably closer to what your looking for.

How does the TL compare to a T3?

What is the price range you are looking at?

Gotta stay at $100.00.
I know it's near impossible, but with all of the experience on this forum, I thought someone may have an idea.
The T3 864-4 rod was light and whippy. Mends only required a flipof my wrist. My rods need a lot more to mend well.

I have this rod, absolutely love it, and would recommend it to anyone. Don't know where the price will go on it but...

I spotted that Ebay add yesterday, too.

Look in the swap forum.
