Hello all, I’m new to fly fishing about 4 years that I got hooked into threw Project Healing Waters. I can truly say it has change me for the good. I’m looking towards getting in the water a lot more and hopefully can make the spring jamboree

Hello Eric, welcome to the forum. I wish I was in Erie. I'll be back there in the first weekend of March. How's the steelheading?

Welcome aboard. I may try to get ahold of you next fall if I can swing the time off for a steelhead trip. Hope to see you at the Spring Jam.

This has been a great fall season this year. The fish were spread out in all the streams. Right now the streams are all iced up but should be opening up soon with the warm weather.

I was up there last year (NOV 3-6). It was great fishing. The flows were low it was easy to spot fish. Went 6 (landed) out of 12 (hooked). Not sure if that is good. The temps were mild. I was even fishing in a T-shirt midday on a few outings and could smoke cigars well into the evening without even the slightest chill. The weather did not feel like November.

I'm sure March will be ice-cold and the flows will be up. Basically the opposite of the fishing experience in Nov. I will bring all of my heavy duty fly rods, big bobbers, heavy tippet, and good cold weather gear to accommodate these new conditions.

Welcome!

Welcome to the site! You'll find it loaded with many fine and experienced fishers, tyers, rod builders and just good helpful folk.

I'm a born and bred central NYer. I've been tying for over 50 years now and have been hosting fly swaps for going on 12 years now.
