Hi All!

I am looking for a Flycraft stealth, preferably with the fisherman package. If you have one you are looking to sell or if you know of one potentially listed elsewhere I would love to hear more.

thank you - Mason

Sorry, forgot to add I live in Pittsburgh, but willing to travel to most of the state.

Chromefinder...what are your suggestions as I would be interested to hear them

Hey govtmule!

He suggested this raft- Saturn 12' triton raft/kayak. Which is extremely similar in size and capability. Then with this raft you can build a custom frame from NRS parts NRS frame parts.

Although you would save some money going this route, a used Flycraft will be very similar in price with a more "polished" product.

With that being said, I am still looking for a Flycraft stealth (does not need to be the fisherman package) or a Saturn 12 Triton raft/kayak. Some of the parts needed from NRS are on backorder at the moment while some others would need to be custom made.

Havent figured out how to edit posts yet.... I take it back going the saturn raft route/ NRS frame would save a significant amount of money ~1K and you would have a brand new boat.

and you don't need to use NRS fittings you can buy hand rail fittings online for under $10 ea and source pipe locally. Design your frame, buy the pipe and fittings, cut, assemble and off you go. There are many options for rafts out there. The only reason i suggested the one above is because it has the same dimensions as the original flycraft stealth and i believe is actually made by the same overseas factory but likely has some differences in the build.

IMO, both the Flycraft stealth and the cheaper version i showed you are too narrow unless you only planning to use it solo most of the time and note neither is a self bailing raft. Check out the 12'6'' Saturn Triton which is wider, longer and self bailing with drop stitch floor. Over the years i've seen allot of guys buy a small sized stealth only to turn around in a season or two and sell it because its too small for their needs.

I'd want a wider raft for 2 or 3 person use. I'd want a 55'' or wider raft and i'd want self bailing and a least 12 ft preferably 13' or 14' if the goal is fishing 3 people.

Another small raft 2 person package to consider that IMO a much better value than the Flycraft stealth is the Outcast OSG striker raft package.

Its hard to beat its value, quality and portability if your buying a new 2 person rig and not putting a custom package together yourself. It comes with 5 year warranty and is self bailing and made by a a company that really stands behind their products 110% with great service.

There are many raft options to consider from many manufactures.

Aire
Hyside
NRS / Star
Maravia
Sotar
Vanguard
Custom Inflatables
Demaree aka DIB
Wing
Jacks Plastics
RMR - Rocky Mountain Rafts
AVON

Those are great options and I considered some of them, specifically the outcast and sea eagle . In the end I went with the flycraft because an opportunity presented itself. I can attest two people can stand and cast from it on lakes and slow moving rivers (eg the Big J). People chucking 7/8 wt with heavy rigs at that. When both people are in the process of standing at the sometime... well there is a little unsteadiness. Easy enough to rectify.
The outcast has fewer steps to set up. That's a big plus! It is wider and would be more stable, although I wonder how study /rigid the floor is.
One thing that kept me focused on the flycraft was that the oar locks and seat were fixed to the same frame. Those like the outcast have the seat and oar locks separately fixed to the PVC tubes. I was concerned that if I had to really row hard to get back on track quickly or avoid an obstacle that would be tough with the outcast-like design. I had to do this a few time on the flycraft and this was a big help.
The flycraft has multiple chambers. Seems like outcast is one.
The flycraft is narrower, but this makes easier to get by tight places (admittedly haven't encountered this situation yet) and it most likely tracks better and rows more easily (although I have not rowed the outcast- I'm using logic)

like all choices in life, it depends on how you weigh the pros and cons of each unit. All those listed are options

Agree everything is a trade off. The Outcast stiker has 4 air chambers and the self bailing floor inflates hard enough to stand on. Outcast is actually the fishing division of Aire which manufactures high end whitewater rafts. Their reputation in the industry is at the top of the list. The Striker raft is a version of the Aire Tributary 9.5 whitewater raft.
My internet was to show readers there are many choices out there and each person needs to decide what's important for specific needs.

Yet another 2 person package option for readers to consider is the Creek Company T.Rex 9.8 mini drifter with frame package. It certainly would only work for two people but it's a very nice small heavy duty set up that uses whitewater grade frame parts from NRS and can utilize IMO probably the best raft anchor and rowing system available.

To original poster of this thread looking for a flycraft stealth ...there is one listed on FB marketplace today for $5200 in Birdboro, PA...good luck

Chromefinder, appreciate the heads up... I did look at this boat, but its the "X" which is a 14' 3 person, i am looking more for the 2 person 12'.

I have reached out to Saturn and they are an NRS dealer, so they could provide the matching frame, all in one shot.

I know we are getting a bit off topic for the "swap" forum, but I think this is good info for everyone.

In addition to the list above, do you have any experience with Dave Scadden boats? Seems like they have config or two that would work for what I need. I personally have seen mixed reviews, just wondering if you have any knowledge.
