So I broke my Winston Passport 9ft 5wt in MT 2 weeks ago. Broke the tip section about 2/3 from tip. Anybody in NW PA that can repair/replace tip section?
I contacted Winston but since I'm 2nd owner, no warranty. Its a low end import they had made in the past but no longer offer or support. No interest in doing the repair.

Since the Passport is no longer made, are there Winston blanks that are "close enough" onto which you can wrap guides and hot glue a tiptop? I'm pretty sure a low-end substitute can be found.
(Updated)
I looked at hookhack and flyrodcrafters and didn't find any "deep bronze" colored blanks. There are some greens and charcoals. Fast action rods abound, so it shouldn't be hard to approximate the action of the rod.
I don't know about repairing rod blanks, but I expect that the fix would stiffen the repaired section to the point where it would at least be noticeable.

I have the same 9ft 5wt Passport. A some point I had heard enough good things about the Redington Classic Trout rods that I ordered one. Since I had the Passport, I bought the Redington in a 9ft 4wt. The Redington reminds me so much of the Passport that I think they have to be designed by the same person. My advice is buy a Redington Classic Trout 9' 5wt.

Hope this helps
