Bought a bunch of beads from Wholesale Fly Company. Beads are Ok. Not as high quality as most other, more costly beads. They have some burrs and such. That isn't the problem. They are all going to end up on the bottom of a stream for the rest of eternity anyway.

The problem is that they all seem undersized for their listed size. For example the 5/32 size is smaller than all my Wapsi, Hareline, and Orvis 5/32 beads.

Has anyone else noticed this? I guess it's something to keep in mind if any of you are thinking of buying some.

will the off size of the bead affect the function of the end product?

How much smaller are they? Are they a full undersize? Tungsten or brass?

Im going to put an order in for 300 tungsten beads but would like to know if i should expect a full undersize or just slightly smaller..

thanks for the heads up

I would buy the size that is one size larger than what you think you need based on what I received.

It would if you bought beads for size #14 flies and they were more suited for #18 and 16 flies.

Keep in mind I purchased the brass beads, not tungsten. There may be a difference.

Does wholesale have tungsten now?

Yes wholesale does sell tungsten, starting at $10 for 100 and prices go up from there.

I think they are quality beads at that price point and they are not over milled through the center like other beads.
