What flies have you tried

I recently got the John Barr Flies book and was wondering if anyone has tried his patterns here, they seem to be very typically western patterns, I've tied a few Copper Johns, tung teasers, Barr Emergers etc and am looking for good fish catching patterns. Any advice or help welcome.

i have used his hopper.it is good with a dropper,and i'm not just saying that because of his hopper copper dropper system.

next to whitlock's dave's hopper it is my favorite hopper.

even though i'm not that wild about when people name flies after themselves.

But The Shakey sounds like a great articulated streamer pattern, or possibly a catepiller.

i t would be ok for ME to do,just not these guys who name a fly after themselves each year.especially when their new fly is just their old fly with new material. haha,lmfao
