So yesterday I stopped to fill up the truck on my way home from a camping trip around the town of New Buffalo which is slightly north of Duncannon on RT 11/ 15 and runs parallel to the Susq. I saw these two mayflies on the pump. I am terrible at identifying bugs and the best I could get with these is that they are mayfiles. I am not certain on size but I will say they where plenty bigger than a standard #14. Any help would be appreciated. Let me know if the pictures dont show up.

I'm pretty sure the bottom one is a golden drake, if I'm seeing right that it has a middle tail shorter than the other two.

Thanks. Those two looked identical so I am assuming they are the same type of mayfly.

While I can't see the pics...any gas station along the Susky will have all sorts of mayflies on a summer night. The number of bugs is just astonishing and sorting out the exact specific species is way beyond my ability.

Some very serious aquatic entomologists go to these gas stations to collect mayfly specimens due to the wide range of species.

Ok so google photos is basically useless for photo sharing I am trying a third method.

I could see the second set of images yesterday, but they're disappeared.

I they all worked for a bit for me. Google photos is officially useless. I will be moving the images to another hosting service that actually works. I sent a nasty gram google for this utter failure of a product.

Your not the only one I've heard complain about google photos thats for sure.

If I want to post a photo on the forum I just use the free image hosting sites that give you a link after you upload the photo, you dont get an album or anything just a temporary thing to get a link for the forum. Other than that all my photos are just saved on hard drives, which probobly isnt the safest thing.

Yep I am moving to another free hosting site. I will keep photos as an great way for automated back up. I just wish it was more useful.
