Website Timing

I'm a newbie to the site Long time reader, just getting involved in posting. How does the timing work on this site?

For example, its 4:18PM EST right now and the forum page says its now 21:18. I'm confused, Its 5 hours off military time. Can someone help me out? Maybe I'm just being an airhead :-D

Under "your account" and then "edit profile" you can change the time zone setting.
