For all you guys who video your trips what type of camera do you use? do you like it or would you get something different and if so what?
Also can you use it hands free - say when casting or playing a fish to do self video?
Thanks

I have a GoPro and they seem to be the way to go now. i like mine and hope to use it more this year. You can get a head or chest mount to film yourself fishing.

IMO chest mount sucks for fishing. I have one and my hands are always blocking the view, and if I am casting to one side or the other then the field of vision is off. I am planning to pick up the head strap to try this year.

it depends on what you want to do. POV shots a gopro is the way to go. but if you want to do a bit of everything I would say a DSLR style camera would be a better choice. it better for capturing the whole landscape and usually a better image. or go with a regular video camera. this has auto focus in most if not all. when recording I think that's what the DSLR's might lack but I could be wrong about that.
a sick gopro one but I think most of them usually suck. http://vimeo.com/58599703

this guys does some awesome videos uses a gopro a little but most of his shots are with a nicer DSLR.http://vimeo.com/39594064

I have the cannon d20 waterproof camera. Shoots great video...one side by side comparison I saw online rated it better than the go pro, however cannon doesn't offer a head mount like go pro does. The cannon seems to be a physically designed as a camera first and a video recorder second.

I have a pair of ikam extreme sunglasses sadly they are not waterproof and the old versions didn't get very good reviews but the newest version in my opinion is great! I would highly recommend, because of the price, they are online on google shopping from around 70$ to 150$.

Sorry forgot in my last post, hands free! One button operation, very easy!

I use a ReplayXD 1080 with a headband.

Works great for fishing, though it can be tough to level properly since you have no good reference unless you have a mirror or your cell phone handy to see the witness marks on the lens.

The video is pretty good. Not as good as the most recent GoPro offerings, but it's also about half the price.

It also works great on my bird hunting outings with my German Shorthair or any other event where eye-level shots are desired:
