does anyone know who makes a vertical spool bobbin holder ,like the type that would hold guttermann silk?
or even what it is called? i can't even find a google picture of it,but ,the spools look like this:

gudebrod used to make booin holders for their long spool tying thread but they are now extinct

usually,as Nfrechet suggests,i re-spool .

i am getting a little tired of that :)

Using a sharp knife, Gutterman's overlong spool ends can be trimmed flush. Trimming ends flush eliminates the need for the plastic screw caps.

Letumgo's idea is a winner. Especially, for tying nymps, using metallic threads, ....... Gutterman's and JoAnn Fabrics list a number of different threads.
