I have been using various types of UV cure resin for fly tying for about four years. The price is quite dear! Wow! I started using UV cure resin that I purchased from a beauty supply shop. No complaints except that it takes longer to cure than the brands sold exclusively for fly tying, but when dry is very hard. In many of my ties if I apply a wing case or it I apply an extra coat of resin, I hit it with Sally Hansen. I believe that it prevents water staining, clouding or chipping. I notice that on Amazon there are UV resins which are pretty inexpensive. Does anyone have any experience with the "less expensive" (cheap) resins like that? Please LMK. Did I ever tell you that I'm cheap? See below:
