UV Finish Darkening Flies

I'm having an issue with the UV finish on some of my flies darkening their appearance. This occurs with both Loon Flow and Solarez.

This mainly occurs with nymphs when using yellow thread for a hotspot or really any light colored thread. It ends up appearing brown.

Any tips to avoid this outside of using tinsel instead of thread?

are you wrapping the yellow thread for the hot spot over darker thread or materials?

the material underneath may be darkening culprit. the darker material my be bleeding through

have you tried hot orange or hot red thread as the hot spot?

have you tried the newer colored uv resins? or colored head cement? or nail polish?

has it affected the flies catching ability?

Try jewelry clear resin. It is not as cloudy or dark as other resins. White thread base also lightens appearance.
