A picture in front of OxBow campground and a short video of Peaceful Valley. The video won't post. I was able to post my PV friend's trailer minutes before he moved it to higher ground. I have fly fishing friends at PV and OXB. The upper EB crested at 11'. OxBow trailers get wet at 14'. My PV friend's wood pile got wet and the periphery around the trailer is wet but not the trailer. My cabin on the lower WB was fine. I can stay dry to 22,000 cfs. It never was more than 11,000. The flood of late June 2006 was catastrophic. 44,500 cfs ran through my cabin. There was a watermark on my door 46" above the ground. Normally I am about 7' above the water level. Imagine it was about 11' above a normal level!

Just checked the gauges. 9950 CFS on the upper east is insanely high. WB at Walton is almost 9k as well.

Hopefully not too much property damage and no injuries

I heard from my OxBow friend that northcentral PA (Williamsport) got hammered. The Loyalsock and many other mountain creeks are in that area.

The East rose to 10k cfs, almost 12ft on the Harvard gage. The boat ramp and picnic ground at Oxbow campground flooded but the main campground is ok. A few more feet and the river would flood the camp. The Harvard gage is at the campground 100 feet from some campers.

Butternut Grove on the Beaverkill came close to flooding as well.

All rivers are coming down quickly

Love to see the rivers up and cooled off this time of year but this was a bit much. Lots going into the lakes and I'll be interested to see how it changes the fall release....if the aqueduct work actually happens

Agree, also Sept - Oct can have big rain events. I would think a resevoir buffer would be maintained but NYC doesn't always use logic.

Do any of us think the aqueduct work will ever be started?
