Ugh. Wings

As a new fly tyer and loving wet flies I have found one thing that makes me more irritated than an Amish Electrician. Setting wings. Anyone have tips on setting wings that after the first wrap they aren't cock-eyed? I am all ears

Use a pinch loop with a couple of soft wraps before tightening. Try making your first tight pull up rather than down. Try making the pinch loop between your thumb and middle finger, rather than thumb and index finger.

Thanks poopdeck. That helped tremendously. I wasn't pinching them into the hook shank. More less just setting them on top. Also using to hard of a wrap on the first turn after trying to set the wing.
