There are a pile of ways to do a crayfish. Attached are the step by step tutorial on how I do mine. These may be a pattern that is out there, I dunno but I call these bunny claw craws. Many material subs you can use, but the concept is pretty basic.

If anyone needs any input on any of the steps please comment and I will try to elaborate.

The picture of just the claw beside the vise is the reference point on the vice that I use to keep the claws consistent. I do little things like that to try to improve on consistency.

I think these will be productive. I like tying these just as much as the cohen bodies. I left the skirts off of these but you could put them on just as easy.

Warm water stuff is a blast to tie and a breath of fresh air for me.

Looks good. Thinking of trying to tie one up myself.

Now those will fish!

And don't fall into the trap of thinking crayfish flies are just for bass. Big trout love crayfish and these flies will catch trout too (not that anyone would rather catch a trout than a bass.).

Those are nice and will be lively on the retrieve and the drop.
I will take the opportunity to pitch Shane Stahlcup's Crazy dad, which changed my approach to craws. It's super simple and you can tie a bigger critter easily. It's just rubber legs out the back, clouser eyes up front, a picked-out CrawDub body and an overshell of colored bucktail. It's very crayfish looking in the water and how it moves. It's also generalistic. It just looks like a critter on the bottom.

These are on 2/0 hooks. I may give them a try for trout. Still need to get a bigger rod, as I don't think the 4 weight will chuck these too well. LOL
