I've used everything from chicken feathers to Saran wrap for flies but never seen turkey beard as an ingredient. They're all around my house here in south jersey. Had one killed by a big hawk down back. Looking out the window just now at one on the side porch I'm thinking there's got to be a use for that beard. I have a lifetime supply of nymph cases thanks to the hawk. So you camo guys, what are you using the beards for?

hangin on the wall for trophy.

I'll run that past the wife. I was thinking of a flytying use.

It would be the same as moose mane.

I think he said he shaved it. :-D

to brittle. Hang it on the wall or make yourself a stick on mustache.

Might work ok in very small sections and spun ( like a muddler head). It is fairly brittle, so long fibers would probably break. I may be wrong, i haven't hunted in years, so my memory may be a little hazy.
