I search ebay from time to time to add to my fly fishing library.

I found this
http://cgi.ebay.com/FLY-FISHING-Classics-Library-Easton-Press-NEW-/160467961425?pt=Antiquarian_Collectible

Certainly these are very nice books and would make a fine addition to anyones collection.
Im not paying 1,075 dollars for them though!

Id rather take a trip to Depuy's and Armstrong's Spring Creek.

Nevermind i found two that are worse ;-)

Wait a second........Sparse Grey Hackle.....is that like a Mark Twain kinda print name deal?

My problem is that I remember when these books were being sold originally. They were pretty expensive then, but this certainly makes them a good investment if people will buy them at this price.
Off the topic: Art prints have similar histories. Ned Smith's "Autumn Descent," a turkey print, sold originally for about $120. I was young, on one income, with a little baby, and didn't bite the bullet. Now this, the best of Ned Smith's prints IMO, is worth $2400.00.
Anyhow, the book collection will probably sell for the prices they're asking -- or even higher!

I don't think that price is that crazy for the collection. Around $50 per book (assuming it sells at min bid of $1075), a lot of which are out of print are getting a lot more than $50 for used paperback or used regular hard cover. These are leather bound (very nicely) and gold guilded and brand new. The Easton Press does a great job with collectible books.

Alpa, yes, Sparse Grey Hackle is a pen name for Alfred Miller who died in early 80's. Big proponent of your beloved Delaware.

There was a member on this board by the name "Sparse Grey Hack" a while back. He was a FANTASTIC writer. I miss his input here.
