The Invicta (Yellow Body)
This is a traditional British Wet Fly and still used today. The yellow body is the original. Change the wing to a Hen Pheasant Wing Feather to show how to use slip wings. It is a required pattern for the GAIA Fly Dressers Certification.
Materials:
Hook: Standard Wet Fly Hook using a size 10
Thread: Brown 6/0
Tail: Golden Pheasant Crest Feather
Body: Yellow Angora Goat (substituting Baby Seal) Palmer Hackle: Ewing Brown Hackle
Rib: fine gold oval tinsel Beard
Hackle: European Blue Jay fibers Wing:
