FWIW I tied a bunch of these last year. Only used a few times. Not sure they ever caught a fish. Part of it is my own fault. When I open my box to look for a dry fly, I am drawn to the ones with a more traditional wing. The fish probably don't care.
 
For me, these were a real help in fishing the sulphur hatch. I really like them, and they are easy to tie once you do it a few times.

The tie much better if you use saddle hackle as opposed to neck. The saddles are a little easier to wrap. I just tied up some for the PMD hatch out west. Who knows if I will use them over a comparadun/ sparkle dun, but at least I will have them.
 
I have used them for 3 or 4 years now. They work great.
