I recently finished this book and wasn't the least bit impressed with it. I thought it was over-rated and paled in comparison to other fishing writers like John Gierach and Thomas Mcguane. That is not to say that Leeson is a bad writer. I will give him a second chance and read Jerusalem Creek.

I must agree with you. I didn't like this book and cannot recommend it either. I am afraid you'll feel the same about Jerusalem Creek. After I read it, I gave it away. I think Leeson's writing is a little pretentious, and I much prefer other writers like Fox, Traver, etc.

Board contributor RLP is a fine fishing writer, and I wish he'd publish a book of fishing stories. I think we would all enjoy it if he did! (hint, hint, Bob)
