The Catskill Wet Fly
Hook: 2X Strong Wet Fly Hook
Thread: Black 6/0
Tail: Wood Duck Flank Fibers
Rib: Palmer rib Brown Hen Hackle folded. Then two turns for the Hackle Collar
Body: Orange Floss
Wing: Wood Duck Flank Fibers
Don't know why over the years these classic patterns have become forgotten. They can still catch fish and are nice to tie and even look at. I still use them today.

Looks pretty much like the Queen of the Waters. An all around great pattern and fish catcher. Nicely tied.

the difference is the wing of teal for the Queen of the Waters and no tail.

It is amazing how you change the material of the wing and omit the tail the name changes.

I had to go back to Ray Bergman's book to check the Catskill Wet Fly. In Eric Leiser's book of fly patterns the body is brown not orange.

Still the folding of the hen hackle is nice to learn.

The classics never let one down.
