I am getting back into flyfishing now that I'm out of the military and wondered if anyone had any places in sw pa to try out this time of the year. Also what flies would you recommend. I'm near Fayette and Westmoreland county. Thanks

While the waters are very cold, I go to the Yough tailrace. With its bottom-releases, the water starts out about 38-40 degrees, which is a lot better than 33 degrees with shoreline ice shelfs. During this warming trend, you could have good fishing on any of the special regs streams, such as Dunbar Creek, Meadow Run, Laurel Hill Creek, Indian Creek or Loyalhanna Creek.

Thanks for the reply, what flies would you recommend and what colors. Thanks again
