Was trying to float down on kayaks this week. Looking for any insight on both river and fishing conditions?

I usually don't pay much attention to the Susky this time of year due to the SMBs usually being in spawning mode around now. I checked out the USGS gage levels and it's around 5.7 at Harrisburg, which is actually a good level and lower than I would have expected. I'd think things should be decent for a float and I'd think if you concentrated your fishing to the mid river channel you might be able to nail some bass that aren't spawning.
Good luck if you go.

Don't even think about the NB... it's running MUDDY!!!! (and a wee bit swift) Give it about 2 weeks without rain. Best time to 'yak it up here would be when the Towanda guage reads 5' or lower. You can do at 7' with a 'yak... but that's not for a novice. If your skilled at 'yakking! 7' can be fun fishing.

Right now, it's 8.9' I wouldn't risk it. Some logs, brush, and stuff coming down the river right now.
