The water at my R&G club in the Poconos is very tanic. My new Maui Jim sunglasses(brown lenses) make a big difference when I look into the water and can see fish.
Edit note: I am a big fan of Orvis. I love their customer service. Someone answers the phone and can help. There aren't that many companies left. I am more than satisfied with everything Orvis that I have recently purchased.
The lone exception would be their inexpensive Croaker fit over eye glass optics. I am very unimpressed. Spend the money and invest in the best quality optics available that you can afford for fishing.
It has made a big difference for me.
