This yarn looks like good stuff to tie flies with .. The one color looks like it would be good for a sculpin patern. I just picked up some from ac moore today:-D

They have done away with the perfect scupin color, I bought the local a.c. moore out a few months back.

My wife knits and crochets. I have stole some of her yarn to make some patterns. I have a sucker spawn pattern I caught my first steelhead on that is made from her yarn. I actually tried to steal some more yesterday but couldn't find it lol. I look sometimes when she needs some new yarn for chinelle but it's always too thick. But that kind looks great for those patterns. I might have to pick some up next time I'm out with her.

Looks an awful lot like the famous don's sculpin.

While that's not the same material, it's awful close :-D. Case closed?

The one that you don't have to worry about finding, because one of your friends has plenty of it. :-D

It's Lion Brand Yarn's Desert Print #227 chenille - from what I can find, it's still available.

That's what I thought, because it looked very similar to the skein of it I bought about 6 months ago. ;)

Actually, I'm curious to know if its the same pattern or not, but it'll do close enough.

Looks verry similar http://cache.lionbrand.com/patternDemo/swatchDisplay.html?s=950-227

That's the stuff. I don't think it's all that important to have the exact match. Close is good enough. I've gone shopping for the materials with Don himself, and he uses more than one color in his ties. He uses different weight eyes and distinguishes the finished flies by using slightly different colors of chenille.

I don't know Ed JK . I'm sure if I asked Don he probally tell me . But that Patons' yarn has some promise for some patterns :-D

I like the artistic Taupes and the Green tea

I love the free patterns, maybe I'll knit a scarf! LOL!

Just remember to knit some hooks into it, in case of emergency you can jsut cut yourself off a bugger and fish...
