Still water fishing

I am going to try my luck at a few local ponds this weekend. Is there a huge difference in gear I should use? I will be fishing places that aren't terribly deep maybe 5-10 feet.

I usually fish streamers in ponds. I cast as far as I can and try different degrees of weight and stripping speeds. Wear polarized glasses and look for structure where fish may be.

What are you expecting to catch? Bass and sunfish or is this a trout pond? Either way streamers are what I would use. If there are pan fish in there take a 4 weight and some size 10 woolly buggers....they can be a blast on light tackle.
