Need some help from the mid stater for this week.

Need a suggestion for a stream in the State College area that has water , easy access and will be at temperature safe to fish. College tour this week with PSU on the Thursday AM agenda. Thanks in advance.

Ever hear of Spring Creek? Check it out around Bellefonte or search Fishermans Paradise, freestone streams in the area are very low... Fishing will be more productive daylight or evening.

Spring Creek is the obvious, but also probably best choice right now. Everything is still very low up there right now. The cool nights I'm sure have helped with water temps, but the small freestone Brookie streams generally fish like junk when they're this low and clear, even if temps are ok.

I'd probably still leave Penns and the LJR alone. They may have cooled somewhat but fish in those systems have surely had a rough Summer and temps are probably still pretty borderline, at best.

Big Fishing Creek, in the Narrows may be an option. It should be plenty cool enough, and it's a decent low water option as it's a bear to fish in higher flows. Expect tough, picky, and moody fish though. The fish on Spring will likely be more cooperative.
